The Master’s Storyteller in Cheney, KS

What a beautiful window!

This was my first time to work with Doug Hasty, pastor of FUMC Cheney, KS.  I met him through his brother, who is also a UM pastor in KS.  As a matter of fact, I went from Doug’s church to his brother, Don’s church the next week.  Doug has a deep faith and a contagious love for Christ.  I was so delighted to be able to work with him in this wonderful congregation.  I have been in Cheney a couple of times in the past, but it’s been quite a few years since I was here.

We had large enthusiastic crowds all week.  Rev. Hasty has this place humming!  It was obvious that much prayer had been done in the weeks before we arrived.  I knew from the first day, it was going to be a special week.

God lives in the praises of His people.

I'm always amazed at how God uses these stories to communicate His love.

I love getting to go into the schools.  The label, “storyteller”, opens doors all over the nation.  I’ve had the joy of speaking to over 10,000 kids each year for over 30 years.  That’s 300,000 boys and girls that have heard Bible stories in public schools nationwide.

The boys and girls were spell bound!

They were talking about the Master's storyteller for days!

It is a real joy to go to these schools and tell stories from the Bible.

Pray with me that God will continue to bless the ministry of Doug Hasty and the wonderful folks in Cheney.  There are great days ahead for them.
