Our deepest gratitude to all who prayed for us during this time of loss. The funeral for MoMo Perry was wonderful. Felicia and I saw family members we had not seen for years (and even met some for the first time). It was an awesome tribute to a wonderful woman. Family members sang, read the Scriptures, gave the obituary, and preached. She would have been so proud. We wept and laughed together as we remembered the many years of faithful witness she had lived.
Here is a link to download the song I sang for MoMo. It is a wonderful song by Squire Parsons, “Sweet Beulah Land”. 1979 Kingsmen Publishing Company (Admin. by Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing, Inc., 741 Cool Springs Blvd., Franklin TN 37067) I was afraid I wouldn’t get through it without breaking down, but God gave me the strength to do it. As you listen, remember that there is a home we are all headed for and think of all the wonderful reunions we will have.
In other news, we are still working on the new songs for the next album. The rewrite of the Wesley Hymns is going well. I now have 11 written and hope to do one more before we go into the studio in April. I will be singing many of these songs this month at Asbury Seminary in Orlando, Fl. I will be ministering during their Kingdom Conference.
Here is the text of another of the songs.
Maker in Whom We Live
By Wesley Putnam 2006
Maker in whom we live
and move and breathe
The glory, power,
praise, and honor be.
Let all the angel throng
worship you with song
While the earth and sky
in concert sing along
Son of God who died for Adam?s race
We give you thanks
for such redeeming grace.
We hear the heavenly choirs
and add our voice to theirs
We bow before you as worship fills the air.
Holy Spirit, blessed Comforter
We give you praise
for life-transforming power.
Oh mighty, rushing wind,
You blow in us again
Breaking the chains
that kept us bound in sin.
Mighty God, Loving Son, Holy Spirit, Three in One.
Three in One.
Three in One, Our loving mighty King
Here and now Your praises we proclaim.
When life is finally done ?
Our races have been run,
The worship of our God has just begun.
