BibleQuest and Dayspring at FUMC Palestine, TX Sept. 12-15

This is my second time working with Rev. Bruce Hay.  I was with him last in Huntsville, TX, where we had a great time in the Spring of 2001.  He is now in Palestine, and I was excited to be back in touch.  He has a real heart for ministry, and his church is doing very well under his leadership.  He and his very capable staff had done the ground work and prayer, and we saw the fruit of their labor in these days of renewal.  Bruce was very pleased with the number of folks who turned out.  He admitted being a little nervous about evening attendance in his church, but the folks filled the sanctuary every night.

The week was made even more special because Felicia’s sister and our niece and great-nephew live in Palestine.  It was so good to be able to spend time with them.  We also had the joy of having two of our twelve grandchildren with us on this trip.  The motorhome was a little smaller than I remembered it, but it was such a delight to have them with us.  You might notice them in the picture of the BibleQuest medal winners.

People of all ages were enthralled by the stories.

So much fun to see the response of the crowds to the storytelling.

There was a genuine spirit of worship in the services.

Here is the medal they worked so hard to earn: the Official BibleQuest Gold Medal, made of REAL metal!

These are the medal winners from FUMC Palestine.  They look pretty happy to me.

Please pray for us as we continue to walk through the open doors God provides for ministry.  I will be going “solo” for the next month or so as Felicia helps out with the birth of grandchild number 13.   I am in the studio this week working on final vocals on the Treasures CD.   Saturday I fly to Canton, OH, where I will be doing a district revival for the Tuscarawas district of the East Ohio Conference of the UMC.
