It was a delight being in Covington,LA. It is a beautiful town! A gorgeous part of the country! But more importantly, it is where my brother, Byron Putnam, and his sweet family reside. It was so good to be able to spend time with them and work together for this time of renewal. As an added bonus, we got to see one of our nieces play the role of Cosette in a production of Les Mis. She did an absolutely amazing job.
Here is part of the family after one of the performances. Byron and Heather along with 3 of their six… Paige, Bethany, and Claire.
I grew up in South Louisiana and have learned to absolutely love the culture and the people. We enjoyed our times of worship so much and experienced the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit in the services.
The stories were a big hit! People were leaning forward listening and even answering rhetorical questions. So much fun when the stories connect!
The response to the altar call was amazing. God was speaking to hearts and drawing people to Himself. It is always a blessing to see people seeking for more of Him.
The boys and girls in BibleQuest had a great time. We fell in love with these kids! They came with great enthusiasm and were committed to work hard. Lots of verses memorized. Some chose BibleQuest over sports! How cool is that?
Here are the winners of the BibleQuest gold medals. They look pretty proud of themselves, don’t you think?
Pray for Covington UMC as they seek to faithfully serve our Lord in this community. Pray for Byron and his family to have God’s vision as they lead this congregation forward.
Well, it’s off to the next town. Here is Felicia driving a 39′ motorhome down the road as we head out to Georgia.
