Year end travels

Things have been a bit of a blur over the past few weeks. Felicia and I have been blessed to minister in Texas, New Mexico, and Kansas as we have come to the end of a busy year. We are so grateful to so many who have prayed so faithfully for us in our travels.

In First UMC Big Spring, TX, we had the joy of working with our good friend, Dave Ring. Each time we’ve been in churches he has served, the churches have been ready for revival. This week was no exception. We enjoyed great worship, strong attendance, and a highly successful BibleQuest. This church is doing one of the best jobs in Hispanic ministry I’ve ever seen. If you are anywhere near Big Spring during the Christmas season, you need to see their production with the Living Christmas Tree. It is one of the highlights of the year in Big Spring.

We traveled from there to Clovis, New Mexico where we were able to share in ministry with another friend, Brad Reeves. He is doing a fantastic job of ministry in Clovis, and the church is really enjoying his leadership. We arrived in the middle of an unusually wet season for what is normally desert. The rain and snow did not dampen the enthusiasm of the people. We had wonderful participation throughout the week. The children loved BibleQuest and wowed the crowd on the last night when they showed all they had learned in just a few days.

We spent the next week at home enjoying Thanksgiving with our family. We had 17 people around our table sharing turkey dinner. It was wonderful. What a treasure God has given to us in our families and friends.

We just completed our final meeting of this year with a festival of faith in Overland Park, KS. We were at St. Mark’s UMC with Rev. Larry Keller. What a warm and gracious congregation they are. They were very excited about the music and drama. The children were especially excited by the stories. “Who are you going to be tonight?” was the most asked question.

The kids got a huge ovation when they sang their songs on the last night. One of the girls who won the gold medal memorized 48 verses of scripture in 4 days. She was so proud of what she had accomplished.

God is so good to draw people into his Kingdom and to allow us to be a part of His plan to reach the world.

May you know His joy and peace during this Christmas season.
