The Master’s storyteller at Morningstar UMC in Chelsea, AL

I’ve know Rev. Mark Puckett for years.  We worked together when he was first in ministry as a youth director and associate in Tuscumbia, AL.  He has a great heart for God and great vision for the congregations he has served.  Here in Chelsea, he is working with a church that has a LOT of young families and LOTS of children.  So, we did something a little different here.

We had a dual project going on.  During the mornings, we had a VBS built around the story of Moses.  So, for four days, Moses told his story.  That was followed by a rotation style VBS where kids went to different activities built around that story.  It was so much fun!  We had nearly a hundred kids involved and they were PUMPED!

Each night we came back to the church for the different Bible characters who visited through the persona of the Master’s storyteller.  The congregation was really into the stories!

Here is Elijah calling for total commitment to the One true God.

I never tire of people’s delight in the stories.

Here is the response on the last night for commitment at the altar.  God was at work drawing people to Himself.

Pray with us that God will bless this congregation as they continue to follow him in faith in the Birmingham area.  I know they are determined to follow Him.
