The Master’s storyteller in Hurst, TX September 16-18

We don’t often get to minister close to home, but this week we were just a couple of miles from our office at St. Paul’s UMC in Hurst, TX.  Rev. Kent Kilborne is one of the sons of a UM missionary.  I’ve known of his musical skills for years from his days back in the Louisiana conference.  I’ve followed his ministry and our paths have crossed in some of the same churches.  I was delighted to have the opportunity to work with him.  My mom and dad, who  live in Hurst, are now in his congregation.  I look forward to getting with him in the future to “pick and grin”.  He is quite an accomplished guitarist.

We had a great time together this week.  One of the blessings about being on my home turf was that we had friends from the local area who came during the week.  It was a joy to minister here.

We had a small, but enthusiastic group of kids for BibleQuest. One of the blessings of the week was that we had lots of our grandkids who live locally come and take part.

Here are the gold medal winners from St. Pauls in Hurst. (some were our grandkids 😎 they worked hard.)
