I love West Texas. I lived near Lockney for 6 years and know the community as one that represents the best of the hearty stock you find out there. Yes, there are still places where people believe their word is their bond and would give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it. I call them “salt of the earth” people. We were so blessed to serve among them. Rick Carstensen is doing an incredible job in this church. I heard reports of his excellent leadership months before we got there. The whole community loves him and his family. The event was well planned and it showed! Great participation and enthusiasm throughout the week.
We loved being in Lockney and thank God for this church and their witness for Him. They have historically had a passion for reaching out to their community and beyond. They are still living up to that reputation.
We are praying that God will continue to bless their labors with much fruit for His Kingdom.
